Department Overview
TD Cards (including MBNA) is the largest dual issuer of Visa and MasterCard products and holds the position of #1 market share in Canada. TD Consumer and Business credit cards are distributed nationally, leveraging our retail distribution network, direct response channels and key co-brand partnerships, including Aeroplan.
As a member of the Strategic Partnerships & Support Team within Canadian Credit Cards, the Senior Manager, Strategic Business Partners - Payments Operational Service Providers will report to the AVP and will be accountable for managing the business relationships with all of the Cards Strategic Operational Vendors including, but not limited to, G&D, Symcor, FIS(TSYS), FICO and the Credit Bureaus. This accountability includes risk management, contracting, exploring new capabilities and business opportunities, exit strategies, pricing and expense management for each of these critical vendors. The Senior Manager will manage a team of Relationships Managers to support this portfolio. Several of these vendors support other business areas at TD, and in some cases our EVP has accountability for these enterprise relationships.
This role will have accountability for understanding the strategic needs of the Cards business looking for ways in which these vendors should support. This is often done by consulting with Product Owners, Delivery and Technology areas regarding current or potential capabilities and integration points with TD. This role will be brought in to support project or incident escalations only as needed to ensure appropriate support from all these key partners.
It will be an asset for this individual to understand both the Canadian Credit and Debit Cards businesses (North American knowledge is an asset), Third Party relationship management, negotiation practices and the general contracting principles. Financial acumen is a critical skill. People management experience is a must.
