Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • One year working experience in a clinic environment and demonstrated ability to consistently produce high-quality mammograms.
  • Experience working with Radiologists in interventional breast imaging.
  • Experience in assisting with breast ultrasound +/- core biopsy, wire localization and clip placement and stereotactic core biopsy.
  • Experience using RIS/PACS, an EMR (Aria preferred), MS Office Programs, email.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program.
  • Mammography Certificate Course l and ll (equivalent combination of knowledge, training and experience may be considered).
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Current registration with the Manitoba Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (MAMRT).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Must have effective organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative; contributes to a positive work environment to foster an atmosphere of respect and caring.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative; multi-task in a busy clinic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to function and adapt quickly to changing and demanding situations within the diagnostic imaging and surgical clinics.
  • Ability to provide empathy and compassion to patients regarding their cancer diagnosis.
  • Attends and actively participates in staff and program meetings.
  • Participates in ongoing education, workshops, conferences and provincial breast imaging services as they relate to program delivery.
  • Demonstrated reliability to committed shifts and a willingness to accept additional shift work as required.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
