As a Senior Instructional Designer you will create diverse learning experiences for onboarding, product, employee, and partner audiences; manage large learning projects; lead Learning and Multimedia initiatives; and facilitate knowledge sharing. Success requires being a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to understand complex technical concepts, and solid project management abilities to identify needs, develop solutions, and drive projects to completion. You will manage multiple timelines and priorities to ensure timely results.
• Conduct needs analysis with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning objectives and performance outcomes.

• Apply adult learning principles, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM), and cognitive science principles to deliver effective learning experiences.
• Shape curriculum development at department and initiative levels to increase learner engagement.
• Leverage emerging technologies to create immersive learning experiences and improve design efficiency (e.g., AI tools, simulations). Familiarity with Twine or Unity for gamified learning is an asset.
• Apply visual design skills to create visually engaging learning materials using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Animate, Canva, and Vyond.
• Drive learning engagement by collaborating with stakeholders to share internal employee learning with external customers on the Geotab Academy site.
• Partner with business groups to develop effective communication strategies for learning solutions and programs.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Adult Learning, or Instructional Design, or equivalent combination of education, certificates, and/or certifications (e.g., CPT, CTDP, CDT, APTD, CPTD, CIT).
Modern UX/UI and prototyping: Proficiency in Figma and Adobe XD to prototype learner journeys and enhance UX. Skills in visual storytelling, motion graphics, and brand-aligned design are an asset.
Immersive learning technologies (optional): Familiarity with AR/VR tools such as Adobe Aero, CenarioVR, or Unity and understanding of how immersive learning can be applied effectively.
Experience with SCORM-compliant e-learning packages and knowledge of SCORM standards.
Proficiency with graphic design and multimedia software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Animate), Canva, and Vyond.
Strong ability to create responsive, bite-sized, fast-loading content with accessibility and user-centric design in mind.
Technical competence with software including Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides). Experience with responsive web design, mobile learning, and mobile app development is an asset.
Strong graphic design fundamentals for a learning audience, plus negotiation, project management, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
Experience using relevant tools (experience with Mighty is a plus).
