Opportunity Overview: This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing fire engineering team in Canada. We are seeking a Senior Code Consultant with a strong background in building code consulting and fire safety engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Lead projects and provide expertise in building code compliance and fire safety engineering practices.
  • Business Development: Cultivate client relationships and identify opportunities for growth in fire engineering and building code compliance services.
  • Project Management: Manage project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client expectations.
  • Alternative Solutions: Develop performance-based alternative solutions and facilitate their approval process.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior staff, contributing to their professional development and growth.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in building code compliance and developing performance-based alternative solutions, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or related fields; P.Eng. designation is preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Business Acumen: Strong ability to identify opportunities, build relationships with clients and authorities, and exercise sound judgment in project management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at managing complex situations and resolving conflicts.
  • Leadership Qualities: Proven track record in leading teams, managing projects, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
