ROLE SUMMARY

We are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented, team player to support our organization as Senior Financial Analyst on the Operations Finance team. The successful candidate will support in delivering accurate and timely management reporting, analytics and forecasting into all financial aspects of supply chain to support and influence business decision making. Support the development and maintenance of all financial reporting and co-ordination of the key annual planning forecasting cycles in the business. This role can be based in our Niagara Falls or Mississauga office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze the monthly financial close for the Operations team ensuring accurate and timely recognition of results according to US GAAP and internal policies. Provide commentary monthly keeping apprised of business drivers and challenges. Partner with business leaders to challenge their understanding of the variances and to ensure appropriate actions are taken to attain annual plans. Assess impact of month results on future forecast and required actions by teams.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting of financials for Operations by ensuring consistency with strategic guidelines and constraints. Monitor, forecast and challenge spending to ensure budget compliance with business unit owners. Develop and maintain monthly Risk and Opportunities analysis and reporting by leveraging our Sales and Operations Planning processes. Provide analytical support for quarterly business review, capture trends and engage with business partners on day-to-day activities to increase efficiencies, reduce costs or increase revenue.
  • Business Partnership: Proactively support Operations managers to provide them with monthly reports and commentary. Participate on cross-functional project teams as the finance support. Required to understand the business and systems to be able to provide ad hoc analysis, commentary, and reporting as requested by senior leaders. Provide insights and supporting analysis and work with key stakeholders to develop action plans where necessary.
  • Financial, Planning & Analysis: Develop annual plan for with operations team for production, distribution, and vineyard management budgets, evaluate and challenge assumptions. Support annual standard cost build providing annual rate updates for direct labour, freight and distribution costs, vineyard block costing, grape pricing etc. Review capital expenditure submissions for operations for proper submission requirements, capture benefits and cost savings to build into productivity tracking and forecast.
What you bring
  • Education: University Degree (preference to Finance, Commerce or Accounting)
  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in progressive Finance roles
  • Qualifications, Certifications or Designations: CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Be positive, energetic and comfortable in an open, dynamic and collaborative company culture
  • Experience in the wine industry, operations finance, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is an asset
  • Experience with Hyperion, PowerBI, and JDEdwards an asset

Compensation

Budgeted Range – $77,426 - $100,198. The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra. The budgeted range will align with qualifications, including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
