Job Summary

Max Insurance is looking for a talented and driven Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a vital part in supporting the Finance team’s accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Support core finance functions, including monthly, quarterly, and regulatory financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of journal entries and prepare account reconciliations, ensuring that accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Prepare annual audit working papers and liaise with external audit team.
  • Prepare variance analysis of movement in accounts period over period.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow and internal controls.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Management regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and ad hoc analyses.
  • Liaise with all departments within the organization to support the finance function.
  • Collaborate with other Finance team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Assist with special financial projects including complex financial analysis.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • You have a minimum of three years’ experience in accounting.
  • You have a CPA designation.
  • P&C insurance knowledge is an asset.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite is an asset.
  • You have IFRS experience.
  • You have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You have excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • You have strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have exceptional attention to detail.
  • You have the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines.
  • You have a strong understanding of accounting transactions and reconciliations
  • You have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
