Job summary

Energy Vault is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer for our Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation teams in Bedford, NS or Fredericton, NB. This role involves overseeing environmental assessments, risk assessments, and project management while contributing to the growth of our environmental practice in Eastern Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental consulting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of environmental consulting experience completing ESAs and remediation projects.
  • Knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental guidelines and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze and synthesize information.
  • Available to manage or work on sites throughout Atlantic Canada or outside the region, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing, planning and designing of environmental sampling and analysis work plans.
  • Completing environmental risk assessments and enforcing health and safety plans.
  • Overseeing project teams performing Phase I to IV Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Technical report writing and proposal development for submission to regulatory authorities.
  • Supervising project teams completing field activities, including monitoring, sampling, and remedial activities.

Who are we looking for?

We are currently looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer to join our Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation (CAR) Teams in our Atlantic Canada office locations in Bedford, NS or Fredericton, NB.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Engineering Solutions Design: Overseeing, planning, and designing of environmental sampling and analysis work plans;
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Completing of environmental risk assessments;Implementing and enforcing project specific health and safety plans on project sites;
  • Environmental Site Assessments:Overseeing project teams performing complex Phase I to IV Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs);
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Performing senior review and regulatory compliance oversight;
  • Technical Developments Recommendation:Technical report writing and proposal development for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities;
  • Engineering Drawings:Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Project Management: Supervising project teams completing field activities including monitoring/sampling, excavation, drilling and remedial activities;Procuring services and contract management; Supporting Project Managers and Business Groups on various environmental and industrial projects; Leading internal project teams for multi-media assessments of complex sites; Possessing strong project management, coordination and planning skills to meet client timelines and budget;
  • Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
  • Research: Completing peer reviews, providing recommendations, and quality control/quality review of technical reports;
  • Personal Capability Building: Supporting the growth of the environmental practice in Eastern Canada.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Interacting with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies;

What you will bring to the team:

  • An undergraduate or Graduate degree in Science or Engineering. P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 8 years of environmental consulting experience completing ESAs and remediation projects.
  • Knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental guidelines and regulations.
  • A comprehensive understanding and experience with Federal framework and/or FCSAP process would be a great asset.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle;
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments; meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and technical writing skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English are considered an asset.
  • Attention to detail. Ability to analyze and synthesize.
  • Available to manage, coordinate and/or work on sites throughout Atlantic Canada, or outside the Region, on occasion.
  • Site Professional status within Atlantic Canada is considered an asset.
