A mining company is seeking a Senior Environment Advisor in Calgary to lead fisheries and aquatics compliance at the Ekati Diamond Mine. This role emphasizes technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and project management. Position Overview:
Reporting to the Team Lead – Environmental Management, and working closely with the Advisor – Operations, the Senior Environment Advisor, Fisheries and Aquatics is responsible for leading the fisheries and aquatics components of environmental compliance and monitoring at the Ekati Diamond Mine.
This role focuses on understanding and managing biological effects to benthos, plankton, and fish, while providing regulatory, permitting, and technical advice. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring Burgundy maintains high standards of environmental stewardship in a sensitive northern aquatic environment.
This is a Calgary-based position on a Monday to Friday (5x2) rotation, with regular travel to the Ekati mine site, northern Indigenous communities, and other locations as business needs require.
