About the Role
A senior-level Engineering Lead – Design & Aerostructures is sought to lead the development of mechanical and structural systems for next‑generation eVTOL aircraft. This role combines hands‑on product development with leadership of the engineering team, guiding the technical strategy, tools, methods, and processes for both developmental and certified aircraft.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor the Design & Aerostructures team, setting technical direction, goals, and priorities.
- Architect, design, and implement mechanical system architectures from aircraft to component level.
- Design critical structural components including fuselage, propulsion mounts, landing gear, and system housings.
- Specify and validate materials (e.g., composites, aluminum, titanium, high‑performance polymers) for strength, weight, thermal, and durability performance.
- Oversee product development from concept through prototyping, testing, and production release.
- Optimize structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue, and thermal performance.
- Interface with suppliers to validate materials, manufacturing methods, and fabrication constraints.
- Participate in failure investigations and root cause analyses for material or mechanical performance issues.
- Develop test infrastructure to verify platform performance and support certification.
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with external organizations and research institutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and eVTOL certification requirements.
- Continuously improve processes, tools, and team capabilities.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years in senior engineering or technology leadership roles within aerospace, with primary structural systems experience (composite design and stress disciplines preferred).
- Full lifecycle experience in at least one aerospace program, from concept to production and certification.
- Familiarity with eVTOL Certification regulations (TCCA, FAA, EASA).
- Hands‑on experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA V6, 3DExperience preferred).
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
