Our Opportunity

As we continue to grow, our company is accepting applications for a remote Senior Drafter/Designer position. The successful individual will work on upcoming projects in various industry sectors, such as Municipal, Heavy Industrial and Power Distribution.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop design plans and details including site layouts, project alignments, plans and profiles and sections.
• Transform preliminary concepts and sketches into designs, plans and project informational requirements.
• Create and calculate field layout files from digital and plan design data and provide data solutions to resolve field problems.
• Process incoming and outgoing drafting requests and survey work orders within a defined filing system.
• Analyze and process field and design data across a variety of formats and coordinate systems and draft as-built plans.
• Filter as-built data onto relevant layers and surfaces, append into and maintain the as-built drawing record.
• Ensure drawings and designs are accurate and in accordance with project scope, client specifications, standards and all applicable codes and regulations.
• Search and utilize a variety of file formats (CAD, plan, database) for current design.
• Perform and create volumetric calculations and surface manipulation.

Your Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a draftsperson, with exposure to major infrastructure and civil engineering projects in a consultancy environment.
• Solid experience with and/or exposure to detailed design is preferred.
• Three-year diploma in Drafting, Municipal, or other relevant Technology (equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered on an individual basis). Eligibility for registration as a Technologist is an asset.
• High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D is essential (2019 or later software is preferred)
• High proficiency with Trimble Business Center is preferred
• Advanced knowledge of survey methodology and survey field experience is an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, standards and construction methods.
• Keen attention to detail, with excellent organization and communication skills.
• Able to adapt to working in a team environment with other drafters collaborating on one project, or alone with limited supervision.
• Strong work ethic with ability to multitask in a fast pace environment and effectively prioritize workload.
