What is the Opportunity?

The Disaster Recovery and BCM team at RBC supports critical business processes by ensuring people, processes and technology are prepared to recover from the unexpected. As a Senior Disaster Readiness Operations Manager, you will be responsible for designing and managing disaster readiness exercises. You will design the exercise methodology based on risk scenarios, define objectives and success criteria and facilitate global team implementation. You will be part of an important program of continuous improvement that ensures the ongoing resilience of RBC as we become a digitally enabled relationship bank.

What will you do?
  • Design and run different types of exercises to address plausible but severe scenarios.

  • Prepare detailed reports on exercise objectives and risks for regulatory assessment.

  • Align exercise and test requirements with regulatory guidelines.

  • Organize and facilitate large groups of resources for efficient recovery operations.

  • Research and remain current on industry standards for business continuity and promote continuous improvement of the Disaster Readiness Program.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Expert experience with Disaster Recovery including design, exercise planning and execution.

  • Senior level verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure including virtualization, databases, SAN and NAS storage, messaging, networking and Cloud.

Nice to have:

  • DRI International certification for Disaster Recovery.

  • Financial regulatory requirements for business continuity management.

  • Experience with ServiceNow.
