Senior Development OPS Engineer

Location: 100% Remote, Canada

Experience Level: 5+ Years

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Development OPS Engineer to drive monorepo strategy, CI/CD modernization, and scalable developer tooling for a global product engineering initiative. This role will architect and execute core DevOps practices supporting a long-term program with a Fortune 500 product company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the strategy for CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and infrastructure to enhance speed, reliability, and scalability
  • Design, implement, and maintain modular CI/CD pipelines with automated QA workflows and monorepo-based code management
  • Provide architectural vision and direction for DevOps practices within the design system ecosystem
  • Lead end-to-end management of the build, integration, deployment, and release processes
  • Monitor pipeline performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimization strategies
  • Manage dependencies across multiple projects and libraries within the monorepo, ensuring consistency and conflict-free development
  • Implement, promote, and guide development teams in DevOps culture and best practices
Must-Have Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools such as Cloud Bees, Jenkins, and Spinnaker
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with monorepos
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using NodeJS and Shell
  • Familiarity with monorepo management tools like Nx
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with the AWS stack
  • Proficiency with front-end testing tools and frameworks such as Playwright
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams
  • B.S. in computer science, engineering, or a related field
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience building platform-centric projects
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Slack
  • Familiarity with Azure Stack
