What would you do?

Our Senior Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Python based API services and PHP-based applications. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining scalable web applications, enhancing system performance and ensuring security and performance across distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years\' experience as a full stack developer with a deep understanding of designing and implementing microservices architectures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Python based API services and PHP-based applications
• Architect and implement microservices using Docker and containerized environments
• Work with Vanilla PHP and MVC frameworks like Zend/Laravel to build and maintain scalable web applications
• Enhance system performance using caching mechanisms (REDIS/ElastiCache) for optimized data access
• Utilize ElasticSearch for time-series data processing, fast search capabilities, and writing queries and aggregations
• Implement message queues for efficient asynchronous processing
• Develop interactive user interfaces using JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance of applications across distributed systems
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the stack

Knowledge and Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full stack Developer
• Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI/FlaskApi) and PHP (Vanilla PHP & MVC frameworks like Zend, Laravel,or CodeIgniter)
• Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures
• Proficiency in Docker and container orchestration
• Knowledge of caching strategies (e.g., Redis, Memcached, ElastiCache)
• Hands-on experience with ElasticSearch for search and analytics
• Experience working with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Strong frontend skills with Vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
• Expertise in Python Celery for distributed task processing
• Expertise in WebSockets for real-time communication
• Experience with implementing SAML IDP integration with JIT
• Understanding of RESTful API design, authentication, and security best practices
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Work onsite a minimum of 2x per week in our Ottawa office
