Role Purpose
The Senior Data Management Analyst bridges business and technical teams, enabling trusted, governed data for analytics and regulatory reporting. You will partner with Data Engineering, Data Governance, and business stakeholders to analyze processes, capture requirements, and deliver knowledge artifacts that support our cloud-first data strategy on AWS. This role defines and maintains standards for documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage, and mentors other analysts in best practices. You will help ensure all solutions meet Coast Capital’s security, privacy, and regulatory expectations.
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Engage stakeholders to understand business needs, regulatory drivers, and analytics requirements.
- Translate business process flows into clear, actionable requirements for data engineering and modeling.
- Capture and document requirements, technical specifications, and business rules using standardized templates.
- Curate robust knowledge repository to ensure all data products and processes are well documented.
Data Management & Governance
- Define and maintain data dictionaries, mapping documents, and lineage artifacts using Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog.
- Establish and promote standards for documentation and metadata management.
- Support data stewardship and quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies.
Technical Enablement
- Analyze and profile data using SQL and Informatica IDMC tools.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to design and validate ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS and Informatica.
- Support the implementation of data quality rules and monitoring using Informatica Cloud Data Quality.
Reporting & Analytics Support
- Partner with business teams to deliver knowledge artifacts that enable self-serve analytics and regulatory reporting.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using Tableau.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide other analysts on standards, templates, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Use JIRA to manage work items, groom requirements, and track bug fixes, ensuring transparency and timely delivery across multiple workstreams.
Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years in data management, business analysis, or data warehousing roles, ideally in financial services or regulated environments.
- Experience with AWS cloud data management and analytics toolsets.
- Hands‑on experience with Informatica IDMC (Cloud Data Integration – IICS, Data Quality, Data Governance & Catalog) preferred.
- Strong SQL skills for data profiling and analysis.
- Experience with data engineering, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
Minimum Formal Education
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma (3‑4 years) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of data warehouse design methodologies.
- Experience establishing documentation standards and templates.
- Familiarity with wiki‑style knowledge repositories (e.g., Confluence).
- Experience with diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio).
- Experience using JIRA for backlog management, requirement grooming, and tracking issues/bug fixes.
Non‑Technical Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload across multiple workstreams with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively across technical teams and business functions.
