Job Description

This position will support credit investment opportunities for both private placement loans and public bonds, mostly investment grade. Incumbent will be responsible for information collection and in-depth analysis of existing and potential opportunities in the investment portfolio. Incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring the credit market and proposing relative value trades to Portfolio Managers.

What will you do?
  • Prepare fundamental credit analysis of new and existing investment opportunities in bonds and loans (Credit analysis, industry research and credit documentation review)
  • Monitor credit development of our existing holdings and assess the credit implications
  • Partner with the data/analytics team to create analytical frameworks for credit exposure and develop ongoing reporting standards
  • Keep abreast of development in the credit markets with regular interactions with third-party dealers, rating agencies and peers
  • Generate trade recommendations based on relative value assessment on existing holdings and alternatives available
What will you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 4 to 10 years of credit experience in corporate lending or credit research (Buy or Sell Side) in Investment Grade/High Yield
  • Technical bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and communication skills
  • Ability to conduct research, draw insights and convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
Nice-to-have
  • CFA, CAIA Designations and/or CA designation
  • Deep understanding of CAR and LICAT capital guidelines
  • Experience in evaluating Public and Private Placements
  • Working knowledge of Data Science (Python, Snowflake, Tableau) and/or Bloomberg
