Job description
Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to support business‑driven requirements definition and documentation across multiple initiatives with a top 5 banking client in Toronto. This role focuses heavily on understanding business problems, interpreting regulatory or functional requirements, and producing clear, concise documentation that enables downstream technology teams to execute effectively.

Unlike traditional requirements gathering approaches, this position requires someone who can think from the business perspective first—not the system perspective. The Senior Business Analyst will document what needs to change in the business, articulate the underlying problem statement, outline the target vision, and provide structured requirements that technology teams can interpret and deliver against.

This individual will work across multiple projects, supporting senior leadership and stakeholders, conductingAT planning and execution, and coordinating handoffs to technology teams. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, learns quickly, communicates clearly, and can be placed in a room with subject‑matter experts and leadership to produce meaningful, high‑quality documentation with minimal guidance.

This is not a business architecture or advisory role. The focus is on requirements, problem definition, documentation, and UAT—not creating process‑heavy deliverables.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com. Skills and Requirements
  • Strong capability in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation from a business-first perspective.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements or business changes and document what the business needs, not detailed system specifications.
  • Experience preparing clear problem statements, defining the target state, and breaking down requirements logically.
  • Hands‑on experience with User Acceptance Testing: test planning, execution, defect management, and validation of business outcomes.
  • Ability to support multiple initiatives at once, managing shifting priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Experience preparing handoff documentation for technology teams, ensuring tech leads can interpret requirements without ambiguity.
  • Highly intelligent, proactive, and a fast learner—someone who can adapt quickly and operate with minimal direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce polished, high‑quality documentation.
  • Preference for candidates who focus on clarity and structured analysis rather than heavy process development or unnecessary documentation. Familiarity with enterprise banking environments.
  • Experience working with technology delivery teams, including understanding how business requirements translate into system impacts (without being a technical BA).
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Excel, Visio, or similar documentation tools.
