POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Business Advisor - Technology supports the growth and development of Canadian entrepreneurs through the delivery of high-quality standard and custom digital technology advisory projects. This role involves helping clients with impactful digital transformation strategies and the identification and evaluation of suitable business software solutions—particularly ERP, CRM, and industry-specific solutions. The Business Advisor manages project delivery, provides subject matter expertise, actively supports sales efforts, and promotes the advisory offerings. This position requires strong experience, business acumen, interpersonal skills, project management, and analytical skills.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Deliver a unique offering of technology advisory (consulting) projects, including digital roadmaps, system selections, implementation support, and coaching. The focus is to help entrepreneurs adopt and benefit from digital technology in their business.
- Manage project delivery by monitoring scope, budget, timelines, and resources.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure project objectives, quality, and deliverables meet expectations—working hands-on with the project team as needed.
- Offer subject matter expertise and thought leadership, staying current on market trends to support practice development.
- Work closely with Client Partners and stakeholders, adding value through product knowledge and expertise to support sales efforts.
- Engage in active sales support by identifying client needs and developing solution proposals.
- Contribute to practice outreach by developing marketing content and promoting the offerings.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, commerce, engineering with a focus on information systems; an MBA or related professional designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in management consulting, focusing on ERP, CRM, enterprise applications, and industry-specific solutions.
- Experience in a consulting firm is an asset.
- Deep subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in ERP systems, particularly in manufacturing, construction, and other industries.
- Ability to design pragmatic consulting solutions relevant to SME environments and provide strategic coaching.
- Strong client service orientation, with the ability to understand and translate business needs into functional requirements.
- Active participation in business development, outreach, and promotion activities.
- Experience in process documentation related to enterprise systems.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, integration methods, and tools.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver consulting projects with strong project management skills.
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
- Willingness to travel within a limited geographic area and occasionally across Canada.
