Your work environment at EXP
EXP’s London office is seeking a Senior Building Science Engineer/Project Manager to join their team working on projects in and around Southwestern Ontario. Reporting to the Discipline Manager of the Region, the successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced and rapidly expanding group and will lead a team of building science engineers and technologists.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Under the direction of the Discipline Manager, this individual will:
- Conduct building, parking garage and balcony slab building condition assessments and prepare reports.
- Prepare proposals and submit cost estimation for projects.
- Prepare design specifications and drawings for various rehabilitation projects including parking garage, balcony slab and other concrete structures.
- Perform reserve fund studies, performance audits and RB-19 reviews for condominiums.
- Review design details and technical specifications.
- Perform site reviews for building, parking structure and balcony slab restoration projects and new construction.
- Write reports.
- Assist in contract administration.
- Interact with the client, at the Division Manager’s direction.
- Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee Members.
- Participate in/perform other technical and administrative tasks as requested by EXP Services.
- Some regional travel may be required.
- Use suspended access equipment (work from heights).
What your experience looks like
- College/University degree in Civil Engineering specializing in building science or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience in the Building Engineering industry.
- P.Eng. License in the province of Ontario.
- Experience with concrete restoration including waterproofing and other building envelope inspections is an asset.
- Experience with building, parking structure and balcony condition surveys.
- Experience with reserve fund study, performance audits and RB-19 for condominiums.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with proposal writing and submission.
- Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications.
- Organized, works well under pressure and able to deal with situations with tact.
- A valid driver's license and vehicle is required.
- Must be able to meet project deadlines.
- A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail.
