Job description
What will you do?

In this role, you will lead the technical design and delivery of Building Automation & Control Systems (BACS) projects covering HVAC, lighting, access control, fire/life safety interfaces, and energy management. You will act as the technical authority from award to commissioning, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure scope alignment and successful deployment.

  • Define system architecture, sequences of operation, and network design (BACnet, Modbus, IP).
  • Develop and validate control strategies for HVAC and integrated systems.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables, configuration, and software functionality.
  • Coordinate FAT/SAT, commissioning, and integration with mechanical, electrical, IT, and third-party systems.
  • Manage technical risks, compliance with codes and cybersecurity standards.
  • Review and approve documentation, drawings, and training materials for customer handover.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • Licensed P.Eng. (Ontario) or Ing. (Quebec).
  • 7+ years of experience in BACS design and commissioning; strong knowledge of HVAC strategies and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, IP).
  • Familiarity with BMS/BAS software and AutoCAD/Visio.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% nationally.
  • For Quebec-based candidates functional French is required.

The compensation range for this full‑time position, which includes base pay and short‑term incentive, is $88,800‑$133,200 for Ontario residents. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
