Reporting to the Director of Fund Operations, the Senior Fund Operations Analyst plays a central role within the IAGAM operations team. This position requires a high level of expertise and competence in the areas of financial markets and accounting processes, as well as an excellent understanding of investment products and financial market rules and regulations. Covering mutual funds and segregated funds, the scope of this position encompasses the daily process of monitoring net asset value and various other processes related to funds and financial investments.

What you will accomplish with us
  • Perform daily supervision and validation of the net asset value (NAV) calculation performed by our external partner for several mutual funds and segregated funds.
  • Review the process surrounding the daily validation of the ETF basket.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data and the quality of its presentation in various reports and financial statements.
  • Actively participate in the optimization and scalability of our supervision and reporting processes.
  • Understand, interpret, and master legal terms, definitions, and concepts related to fund entity structures.
  • Implement and apply best practices, ensuring consistency in policies and procedures, appropriate controls, and improved reporting efficiency.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry standards affecting client reporting.
  • Liaise with various teams on all aspects of financial reporting, including oversight and/or understanding of key accounting policies and financial reporting implications.
  • Liaise with and manage third-party service providers and fund administrators, as applicable.
What could accelerate your success in this position

We are looking for someone who:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, an asset.
  • At least two years of experience in investment operations or accounting.
  • Experience in financial markets and/or wealth management.
  • Experience in fund accounting and/or financial statement reporting.
  • Good understanding of the net asset value calculation process.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting environments in Canada.
  • Proven experience in multitasking, coordination, and effective inter-team communication.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data and financial statements.
  • Initiative to learn and take on tasks, autonomy, and natural curiosity.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Advanced command of the English language, as the person will be required to communicate and give presentations to internal and external clients located throughout the country.
