Job description

Client is a fabless semiconductor company that provides very dense, highly reliable, and secure Non-Volatile Memory IP for use in standard-logic CMOS processes. Over 150 companies, including many of the top fabless semiconductor manufacturers and IDMs, have adopted client’s memory in their NVM solutions for more than 500 designs. Customers are realizing outstanding savings in solution cost and power consumption, along with better security and reliability for applications ranging from mobile and consumer devices to high-temperature, high-reliability automotive and industrial electronics. The IP is offered at and supported by all top-tier semiconductor foundries and selected IDMs. Client is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with sales offices worldwide.

Responsibilities

The Vice President of Engineering and Operations will be responsible for:

  • Identifying strategic objectives and milestones that will accelerate Client toward its corporate goals;
  • Reviewing and evaluating corporate performance and identifying opportunities for improvement to achieve strategic goals and profitability;
  • Collaborating with sales, product management, and marketing teams to understand customer needs and ensure product development and operations align with market demands;
  • Leading the development and implementation of engineering and manufacturing programs, policies, procedures, and metrics to deliver high-quality products and services, maintaining a competitive position, and supporting strategic objectives;
  • Ensuring the Engineering and Operations teams stay updated on technological changes and market trends that could impact the business;
  • Building and leading engineering and operations teams with the skills required to meet delivery deadlines and product requirements while maintaining quality;
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and continual improvement;
  • Creating an organizational climate that maximizes employee potential, productivity, and retention of key members;
  • Being passionate about organizational success and committed to the customer experience;
  • Developing and coaching individuals and teams with a collaborative and open-minded approach;
  • Focusing on desired outcomes and the means to achieve them;
  • Attracting outstanding employees and building a world-class team;
  • Having a solid understanding of engineering technical issues, financial aspects, sales, and marketing related to product development and delivery;

Preferred Experience / Education

The following qualifications are important for success in this role:

  • 15+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary groups in fabless semiconductor companies or semiconductor IP providers, with at least five years at the executive management level;
  • More than 5 years’ experience in developing and reviewing contracts, statements of work, and quotes;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably a Master’s degree;
  • Experience leading teams of more than 50 employees;
  • Offering a base salary with variables, a comprehensive benefits package, stock options, and a relocation allowance if necessary.
