Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Security Officer and Mine Rescue Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide security services and mine rescue support to the site, ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel and property. Local candidates preferred but open to candidates on a fly-in/fly-out rotational schedule of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide Mine Rescue services to the site; responding to any number possible emergency events, including but not limited to, vehicle extraction, first aid or medical aid response, fire rescue, and training exercises required to maintain certification and competency.
  • Provide security services to the site including preventing and detecting signs of intrusion, ensuring security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Oversee all security and surveillance operations, ensuring compliance with site protocols.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
  • Create and provide various daily and monthly reports
  • Monitor and track all incoming and outgoing personnel, customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Function as onsite Emergency Medical Responder
  • Ensure confidentiality is kept in accordance with laws regarding first aid
  • Perform labour duties as required including site and office maintenance
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and directing inquiries accordingly.
  • Greeting all personnel entering the FMRP in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Other tasks related to general reception, including but not limited to, basic housekeeping of the Security Building workspace, making coffee, and ensuring kitchen area is well stocked.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Mine Rescue Certificate (surface) compatible with Yukon OHS Mine Rescue Standard (OHS, 2016) and approved by Yukon WCB.
  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to perform all routine site security practices.
  • Experience training new hires and Mine Rescue team members.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to effectively follow and give directions.
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods and work in various environmental conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.).
