A mid-sized health care services company in Burnaby seeks a Scheduling and Payroll Assistant. The ideal candidate will coordinate schedules for about 150 employees and assist in payroll processing. A high school diploma and effective organizational skills are essential. This full-time role offers $23.00–$27.00 per hour with benefits after 3 months.

Job description

This position is responsible for scheduling and assisting in payroll processing for a mid-sized health care services company. The successful candidate will likely enjoy problem solving and be able to find time sensitive solutions.

Overview

Position includes great health / dental / extended benefits after 3 months.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the daily running of the schedule for approximately 150 employees
  • Ensures suitable staff ratios
  • Approve vacation requests
  • Cover sick calls
  • Answers phone and / or in-person inquiries and routes to appropriate staff member if required. Responds to routine queries with regard to the organization and services provided.
  • Compiles payroll timesheets with appropriate schedule changes and helps check payroll entries.
  • Prints schedules for distribution. Posts changes to scheduler on a daily basis.
  • Complete Stat Calculations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Job Skills and Abilities
  • Highschool diploma required. At least six months' previous office experience is preferred.
  • Scheduling experience is an asset
  • Experience working with DayForce is an asset
  • Experience working in a Union environment is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize work and carry out the duties of the position with independence.
  • Computer skills especially related to use of office programs.
  • Proficient organization, time and general management skills.
  • Ability to operate telephone switchboard and other office equipment.
