A leading technology consulting firm is seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to lead S/4HANA migration efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SAP architecture, extensive experience in IT, and proven success in managing conversion projects. Responsibilities include defining conversion strategies, conducting system analysis, and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructures. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills. Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and should be located within commuting distance of Montreal.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of Information Technology experience.

• Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology is a plus.

SAP Solution Architect – S/4HANA Migration. The SAP Solution Architect leads end‑to‑end release planning, orchestration, and governance for SAP S/4HANA migration programs. They develop detailed SAP solution architectures aligned with business goals and IT strategies, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and adherence to industry best practices. They provide technical leadership and guidance to SAP development and implementation teams and conduct regular reviews and quality checks on design and implementation work.

Location

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Quebec, Montreal or be willing to relocate to the area. Travel may be required.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
• At least 8 years of Information Technology experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Brownfield Conversion Projects – define conversion strategy, roadmap, and timelines; assess existing ECC landscape and design target S/4HANA architecture.
• System Analysis & Planning – conduct readiness checks and impact analysis using SAP tools (SUM, DMO, Readiness Check); identify custom code remediation and simplification items.
• Technical Execution – oversee system conversion using SAP Software Update Manager (SUM) with Database Migration Option (DMO); manage data migration, downtime optimization, and system validation; govern custom code remediation and simplification.
• Integration & Interfaces – ensure compatibility of existing interfaces and third‑party systems; plan and execute necessary adjustments for middleware and APIs.
• Stakeholder Management – collaborate with functional teams, BASIS, and business stakeholders; provide guidance on best practices and risk mitigation.
• Performance & Security – validate system performance post‑conversion and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Applicants must be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and conversion tools.
• Hands‑on experience with SUM/DMO, SPDD/SPAU, and custom code migration.
• Minimum 8+ years in SAP technical roles, with at least 2 full Brownfield Conversion projects.
• Familiarity with SAP HANA database administration and optimization.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• SAP Certified Technology Architect or SAP S/4HANA Conversion Specialist.
• Experience with downtime optimization techniques and near‑zero downtime (NZDT).
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.

Certifications

• SAP Certified Technology Architect or SAP S/4HANA Conversion Specialist.
