Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the Regional Team of Outside Sales Representatives (OSR’s) to drive profitable revenue growth within their assigned customer base. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proven track record in sales management, and the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing sales team.

  • Contribute to the implementation and optimization of a focused sales strategy.
  • Lead all aspects of team management including recruiting, on-boarding, coaching and performance management.
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline ensuring sustainable growth in all market sectors and across all product categories.
  • Direct the flow of information for sales activities (lead management, opportunity management including price governance and contract negotiation) and evaluate data to ensure that top-line sales and profit margin goals are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product management, procurement, supply chain and branch operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and vendor partners to increase market share and deliver profitable growth.
  • Represent the company at industry events to promote products and services.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market developments to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute as a leading change agent by implementing sales effectiveness and sales enablement initiatives to leverage the team’s knowledge and skills.
  • Direct the flow of information for sales activities and transactions (leads, billings, orders and contracts) and evaluate data to ensure that goals are met.
  • Assist in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitor team expenditures.
  • Respond to inquiries, research and resolve problems related to sales, and liaise with other departments to resolve day-to-day customer service, administrative and operational issues.

What you will bring
  • Post-secondary education plus a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of related experience, including a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years progressive sales experience, preferably within the wholesale distribution industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Industry product knowledge related to company product lines and markets served
  • Knowledgeable of the competition and aware of strategy and tactics
  • Proven ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of responsibility (internal and external) to prepare and deliver professional documents and presentations
  • Consistently meeting deadlines within a fast-paced work environment and able to work effectively within time constraints
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluency in CRM (Salesforce); experience with integration of related apps such as ConstructConnect, ZoomInfo and other sales enablement tools
