Champlain Seafood is looking to hire a Sales & Business Development Manager to join their Sales team. Champlain Seafood focuses on Atlantic lobster and snow crab sourced from the Canadian Maritimes and American Northeast. The company has been recognized for the past three years as one of the Best Managed Companies in Canada and one of the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development of international sales (outside of North America); identify opportunities to drive new frozen business and new markets
  • Correspond with and build a network of international clients and distributors to develop sales and marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive profitable growth
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams (including sales administration, operations and logistics) to bring products to new markets
  • Ensure export sales are managed in compliance with Canadian, US and international regulations
  • Gather and analyze market research data to gain market insight
  • Conduct due diligence of potential foreign distribution partners which may include international visits and trade shows

As the ideal candidate, you are a go-getter with grit, hustle, charisma and business acumen to lead sales for our company in the international market. You should have 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining international sales markets with a proven sales track record in food products; experience and international client network in the seafood sector would be a definite asset.

As the successful candidate, you have a well-honed background and a relevant post-secondary education along with evidence of continued learning. You are hands-on and eager to jump into this new role and drive successful company results.
