Overview

We seek an experienced and process-driven Sales and Estimating Manager to lead our clients' two-person sales and estimating team. This is a player (20%) and coach (80%) role. You will be selling concrete finishing, specializing in placing and finishing large industrial concrete floors, ice rink slabs, parking garages, and structural concrete floors for high-rise residential projects. This newly created role drives strategies to scale the operations to ensure our client meets their ambitious growth targets. This position reports to the VP of operations. The position includes a base salary of $115,000 - $125,000.

Our client is a dynamic and growing concrete finishing contractor specializing in placing and finishing large industrial concrete floors, ice rink slabs, parking garages, and structural concrete floors for high-rise residential projects – comprising 70% of their revenue and the primary focus since the acquisition of a concrete finishing company three years ago. Their capabilities also include concrete forming, footings, foundations, and finishes such as epoxy and polished concrete. LOCATION

Office location: Cambridge, ON

This is primarily a work-from-office role with client site visits required.

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES
Leadership and Strategy
  • Provide leadership to the sales and estimating team, driving strategic initiatives aligned with our long-term vision.
  • Develop and implement processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enable scalable growth.
  • Guide the team in creating and executing a sales strategy to double the business over time.
  • Developing sales strategies and ensuring pipeline oversight.
  • Preparing forecasts and reports for senior leadership.
  • Coaching team members and addressing any challenges.
Sales and Estimating Oversight
  • Manage the project tender board and oversee deadlines.
  • Supervise bid submissions and work closely with the estimating team on pricing and bid forms.
  • Conduct daily huddles with the sales and estimating departments to align efforts and ensure effective communication.
Client Engagement
  • Visit potential clients to build relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Provide product expertise to clients and the team.
  • Present solutions and close deals while maintaining key account relationships.
Team Development
  • Hire, onboard, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Lead by example, acting as a coach to empower the team to excel.
Performance Management
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and reporting.
  • Develop KPIs and monitor team performance, identifying areas for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
