About the job RQ08091: Sr Business Analyst
Provides a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs. Interacts with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements. Prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct business analysis to assess clients’ business problems/opportunities and document business requirements enabling I&IT solutions.
- Apply re‑engineering concepts to promote business improvements through alternative cost‑effective service delivery approaches.
- Lead analysis at varying levels of detail appropriate to the project phase, aligning with OPS Unified Project Management Methodology, Enterprise Architecture and Gating Process, and OPS Standard Systems Development Methodologies.
- Develop strategies, prepare business cases and cost‑benefit analysis, and conduct feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives.
- Develop sound processes for requirements gathering including JAD sessions, interviews, mockups, etc.
- Conduct business modeling, use‑case modeling, conceptual and logical data modeling, process and data flow modeling, use‑case surveys, business‑rules definition and non‑functional requirement definition.
- Monitor progress, resolve problems and report regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders.
- Develop performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation and conduct follow‑up.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Experience in GUI, user interface design and mock‑ups (e.g., Balsamiq).
- Experience with JAD, UML and CASE tools.
- Experience with Document Management or Customer Relationship Management systems.
- Exposure to diverse business environments and enterprise‑wide systems.
- Ability to work with business and development teams to document system requirements.
- Experience with Business Cases, Screen Design/User Interface, Business Process Models, Privacy Impact Assessment, Threat Risk Assessments, logical architecture artifacts, and Business Architecture.
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in a business analyst capacity with clear demonstrations of work.
- Experience conducting requirements gathering and documenting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with developing business strategies, process re‑engineering, business case development, cost‑benefit analysis and feasibility studies in a complex project environment.
- Experience with business functional modelling, business event modelling and business process mapping.
- Experience in structured, object‑oriented and agile methodologies for user requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Team player with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements (AODA) and related regulations.
