Cadet Camp Whitehorse 23 June - 19 August

Short term employment. Full & Part-time hours.

Rations and Quarters are available if required. Language - English.

IT IS AN HONOR TO PROVIDE HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED, AND TO THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY.

RNs are responsible for first aid to cadet civilian instructors and onsite civilians. Services are provided on a walk-in basis, including patient history, physical assessment, screening, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, counseling, and facilitating access to health services and referrals. The HCP must be available for 8 or 12-hour shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

  1. Apply policies and procedures for medical services to military and civilian members;
  2. Assess patients reporting to the clinic;
  3. Administer care and urgent treatment, and provide health information;
  4. Refer complex cases to senior medical staff;
  5. Document observations, recommendations, and treatments;
  6. Provide OTC medication within scope of practice;
  7. Follow up with patients as needed;
  8. Promote hygiene, safety, and disease prevention;
  9. Assist physicians during clinic hours;
  10. Review and fill out Cadet Intake Forms, manage medications, and explain their use;
  11. Promote cadet hygiene and safety;
  12. Oversee cadet medical intake forms and medication collection;

The head/charge nurse additionally is responsible for:

  1. Assessing patients and determining care levels, including contacting medical directors or transferring patients;
  2. Responding to queries from healthcare professionals and camp leadership;
  3. Supervising and mentoring student nurses;
  4. Other relevant tasks.

Administrative duties include handling communications, follow-ups, documentation, stock management, medication audits, and reporting. The charge/head nurse oversees clinic operations, reports, and liaises with medical authorities.

All staff must adhere to Bayshore Policies and participate in quality and safety activities, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
