Overview

Skyworks Solutions Inc. is enabling the world's connectivity by powering breakthrough innovations in wireless communications. Our Ottawa Test Engineering Team is offering an exciting Co-op opportunity for a university student to join us for an 8-12-month term. This role provides hands-on experience in RF and semiconductor test engineering, ideal for students passionate about electronics, coding, and lab work. The student will work onsite full-time in our Ottawa, Ontario design center from January - December 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain test engineering code in C++ for automated test equipment
  • Optimize, improve and refactor existing code into modular format
  • Conduct lab testing of highly integrated Wi-Fi Front end modules, using custom automated setups
  • Analyze and present test results to test engineering and operations teams
  • Support new test designs and characterization activities
  • Collaborate with full-time engineers on ongoing projects
  • Help deliver validated test solutions to Operations and the Volume Production Facility
Required Experience and Skills
  • Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in C++, or similar coding language
  • Familiarity with a modern scripting or coding language is a plus
  • Interest in RF/microwave measurement and testing
  • Experience with RF/microwave lab equipment and techniques
  • Familiarity or experience with Wi-Fi and associated standards is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word); ability to learn internal tools quickly
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities
