A major healthcare provider is looking for part-time Catering Assistants to join the Retail Department at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The role involves serving food, cash handling, and ensuring hygiene standards. Candidates should be literate, numerate, and possess a basic food hygiene certificate. The Retail Department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is seeking to appoint 2 motivated and experienced Catering Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of catering duties within our on‑site retail outlet, ensuring the delivery of a high standard of food service, food safety, and customer service.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
There are 2x part‑time posts of 20 hours and 17 hours available.
The shift pattern for the posts is a 5 over 7 pattern and requires weekend work. The location is the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Please note the salary is pro rata for part‑time hours.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
