About the role:
As part of the Quality department, the Quality Assurance Automation Technical Lead will act as technical reference and catalyst for automation excellence, driving the test automation strategy, tools, and processes, while remaining hands‑on.
Main responsibilities:
- Define and implement the QA automation strategy to align with product and client‑oriented use cases.
- Assess, design, and enhance the automation framework to ensure scalability, maintainability and efficiency.
- Promote best practices in testing, automation and quality assurance.
- Lead by example through hands‑on test script design, tools, deployment pipelines and code reviews.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, IVV, Software and Hardware teams to integrate quality concepts and tools, within CI environments.
- Guide and support QA team members in improving automation capabilities and quality mindset.
- Promote metrics and reporting practices to enhance visibility, traceability and communication of quality outcomes.
- Facilitate technical discussions and encourage collaboration across departments on quality assurance and automation topics.
- Mentor and train QA team members to ensure effective knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree or diploma in computer science.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on test automation related experience and at least 2 years as technical lead.
- Language skills: French is mandatory. Knowledge of English is required for reading technical documentation available only in English and for communication with international clients.
Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of the Testing Life Cycle, Quality Processes, Methodologies and Test Design techniques.
- Strong experience in building and maintaining Continuous Integration test automation framework using technologies such as Jenkins, Gitlab‑CI.
- Strong scripting and framework development skills (e.g., Python/PyTest, Nose2, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of industry practices with a focus on Agile, DevOps, environments and test integration.
- Experience in using source code management system (GIT).
- Knowledge of object‑oriented programming.
Soft skills:
- Ability to inspire confidence and gain buy‑in through expertise and clear technical reasoning.
- Strong problem‑solving, design, analytical skills and out‑of‑the‑box thinking, coming up with creative solutions on testing approaches in critical timelines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and effective negotiation skills.
- Proficient at writing process documentation.
- Highly autonomous and proactive in identifying improvements.
Assets:
- QA‑related certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
- Scrum Master certification.
