Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Bury, BL9

Salary: From £12.50-£13.50ph + £60 per sleep‑in shift

Contract Type: Full‑time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week (including days, nights, and weekends)

Our client provides therapeutic residential care for children aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), including trauma, autism, and attachment challenges. We're looking for compassionate, committed individuals to join the team and become a positive, stable presence in a child's life.

Responsibilities
  • Support children with daily routines, emotional regulation, and life skills
  • Build trusting, professional relationships in a safe and structured environment
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and agencies to meet care plan goals
  • Maintain accurate and timely care records, logs, and incident reports
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and promote children's rights and wellbeing
Essential Requirements
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and professional boundaries
  • Willingness to complete all required training
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Note : Health & Social Care qualifications do not meet this requirement
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting
Desirable Attributes
  • At least 1 year of experience in a children's residential care setting
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours, autism, ADHD, or trauma
