A telecommunications service provider in Halton Region seeks a talented technician to diagnose and repair telecommunications equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, completing service reports, and installing systems. Ideal candidates will have a secondary school graduation certificate and experience in telecommunications. This is a full-time permanent position.
Qualifications
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in telecommunications.
- Ability to diagnose and repair telecommunications equipment.
- Proficient in operating computerized testing systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and locate equipment faults.
- Inspect operation of telecommunications equipment.
- Repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
- Analyze test results and adjust switching system.

- Complete and maintain test and service reports
- Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
- Install electromechanical, analog and digital trunking systems, circuits and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centres
- Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment
- Determine work assignments
- Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
- Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
