Overview

In this position, you will play a crucial role in the support of the design and implementation of SCADA systems specifically tailored for renewable energy power plants. Your responsibilities will revolve around control of renewable energy assets, such as solar farms, wind farms, or battery storage systems, through advanced SCADA technology.

What You Will Do
  • Support design, configuration, and implementation of SCADA systems for renewable energy power plants, considering specific project requirements, hardware compatibility, and industry standards.
  • Interface with vendors and contractors to ensure quality and compliance of control system components.
  • Support development of SCADA architecture, including network topology, communication protocols, data acquisition, and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design.
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Liaison with Enbridge’s Power TIS project delivery team responsible for SCADA integration.
  • Integrate SCADA systems with renewable energy assets, including inverters, turbines, sensors, and other control devices.
  • Support commissioning team’s testing and validation to ensure proper functionality, data accuracy, and system reliability.
  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
Who You Are
  • Preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Diploma will be considered with an additional 3 years of work experience.
  • Previous experience (6+ years) in SCADA system design, development, and implementation, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., SGRE WinCC, WPS, WindNet, GE iFIX, Schneider Electric ClearSCADA, Ignition, AVEVA Historian, SEL RTAC).
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, SQL, and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, wind turbines, and battery storage.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work in multidisciplinary teams.
