Salary range: $70,000 to $95,000

Position Summary

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the site’s Reliability Program and Reliability-Based Maintenance (RBM) initiatives within the Maintenance department. This role plays a key part in integrating Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement in equipment performance, uptime, and cost efficiency.

You will serve as a catalyst for improvement by generating, coordinating, and implementing ideas, strategies, and predictive maintenance technologies. Your focus will be on delivering measurable, timely results in reliability, safety, and product quality.

In addition to long-term reliability planning, you will provide hands-on support for daily maintenance troubleshooting and work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate the resources needed to train personnel and implement reliability improvements across the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site-wide maintenance responsibilities, including Wire Drawers, Stranders, CV Jacketing Lines, facility infrastructure, site services, and mobile equipment.

  • Analyze plant downtime, quality issues, and financial KPIs to identify maintenance priorities and drive performance improvements.

  • Lead and coordinate failure investigations by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to enhance equipment reliability, quality, safety, and cost efficiency; maintain ownership of Machinery FMEAs.

  • Implement lubrication best practices, including handling, application, storage, and execution of the oil analysis program.

  • Provide direct oversight of preventive and predictive maintenance programs such as vibration analysis, thermography, infrared, oil analysis, precision alignment, and ultrasonics to enhance plant reliability.

  • Collect and analyze reliability data from field studies or databases using established engineering techniques and methodologies.

  • Compile maintainability data and develop standard repair procedures based on field studies and operational feedback.

  • Utilize the plant’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), DataStream, to schedule, track, and manage maintenance activities.

  • Support the planning and execution of both routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across the site to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.

Knowledge and skill requirements :

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related engineering field is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience working in process-driven, continuous operations, preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and/or trades background considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and extruder equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred proficiency in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles, with Green Belt certification or higher considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques, including Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Oil Analysis, and Ultrasound.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.

  • SAP experience preferred.
