Job summary

A healthcare organization in Peel Region, Brampton, is seeking Registered Practical Nurses to join their Respite Program. This part-time position requires a diploma in Practical Nursing and registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. You will support children and young adults with complex medical needs, providing direct clinical care and implementing individual care plans. Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others are essential. The role involves working on weekends and adhering to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Brampton Site Work Arrangement

On-site temporary part‑time until August 30, 2026. Part‑time schedule: Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Position Summary

ErinoakKids is currently seeking energetic Registered Practical Nurses to support children and young adults with medical and/or behavioural complexity within our Respite Program. Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work toward supporting clients as they participate in daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and implement individual client care plans
  • Communicate client care plans with respite staff
  • Review and record all medical documentation
  • Conduct assessments and respond to client needs
  • Provide direct clinical care
  • Provide onsite guidance and training to respite staff members as applicable
  • Operate transfer and mobility equipment
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures including infection control practices
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Practical Nursing is required
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience
  • Experience working with children with physical and developmental disabilities
  • Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviors
  • Current CPR and First Aid and CPI certificate is preferred
  • Excellent nursing assessment and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Enjoy working under minimal supervision with children in a team atmosphere
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
