A healthcare organization in Hamilton is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide nursing care and collaborate with Registered Nurses. The ideal candidate will possess a Practical Nursing Diploma and current registration in Ontario, along with recent clinical experience in Maternal-Newborn nursing. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. This position offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $35.12 to $38.16.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides nursing care for clients to promote health and assess need for provision of care and treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal function. The RPN role models professional values, beliefs and attributes, and practices in accordance with the SJHH mission and values, policies and procedures, and College of Nurses Standards and Guidelines. A high level of collaboration between RPN and RN is required to ensure safe and effective care. The RPN provides care for less complex clients whose outcomes are more predictable and risk for negative outcomes is low. The RPN is accountable to recognize changes in acuity and/or complexity in client needs and consulting with a Registered Nurse (RN) in determining next steps in provision of care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
Willingness and ability to cross-train within the maternal newborn program citing a secondary area of interest, General Nursing experience, Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, maintain good interpersonal relationships and set own workload priorities, Demonstrated problem-solving and organization skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
WAGE RATE: Hourly: $35.12 - $36.64 - $38.16
