Job summary

A leading mental health facility in Brockville seeks a Registered Nurse (RPT 0.5 FTE) to join the Nursing Resource Team. You will float across hospital units providing care and support. Ideal candidates must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, possess up to 3 months of nursing experience, and have knowledge of mental health issues. Nursing Resource Team

As a Resource Team RPN, you will be available to float to all units of the hospital as required.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Up to 3 months Nursing Experience
  • Knowledge of mental health/addiction issues
  • Clear understanding of MHA and relevant legislation
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in psychiatric nursing practice as articulated in the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of mental health/addiction issues with specific knowledge about physical/medical compilations related to mental health and addictions
  • Able to meet the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses
  • CPR certification within the last 12 months (BCLS at a minimum)
  • Evidence of continuing professional education
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Problem solving, leadership and management skills in responding to complex and rapidly changing situations
  • Sensitivity, skills and experience working with diverse individuals and communities
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
  • Experience in Mental Health and/or addictions
  • Membership and active participation in a professional nursing organization (RNAO)
  • Experience with evidence-based nursing care to youth with early onset mental illness
Salary Range

40.24 to 57.68 per hour
