Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse program with pharmacological training.
  • Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
  • Experience or keen interest in mental health and addiction care.
  • Current Basic CPR certification.
  • Recent clinical experience, including medication administration.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with a team-based, person-centered care approach.

Overview

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessments for clients facing mental health and addiction challenges. Your responsibilities will include managing treatment plans, offering guidance, and administering medications in accordance with all statutory and regulatory standards. Flexibility is essential, as this position requires you to work across various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Job Function and Duties
  • Delivering client care according to the College of Registered Nurses Standards of Nursing Practice in an inter-professional shared care case management model
  • Reporting to the Nursing Manager, providing ongoing client care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning implementation and evaluation.
  • Formulating and implementing client care plans.
  • Safely implementing physician’s orders.
  • Administering medications to clients.
  • Maintaining current progress records on clients according to legal and ethical standards.
  • Orientating, facilitating and reinforcing client’s involvement in addiction treatment.
  • Decide and initiate on course of action in case of medical emergencies
  • Providing ongoing health teaching to clients in relation to common health problems and the clients maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  • Co-ordinate individual client appointments and referrals.
  • Actively participate with team members in the assessment, planning and evaluation of the client and his care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse program with pharmacological training.
  • Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
  • Experience or a keen interest in mental health and addiction care is a plus.
  • Current Basic CPR certification.
  • Recent clinical experience, including medication administration.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with a team-based, person-centered care approach.
