Overview

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital.


Responsibilities


  • Practice as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and in alignment with the standards of professional practice and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

  • Apply a person and family-centered care model.

  • The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) identifies, plans, compiles and delivers training sessions for staff to help them meet key competencies in compliance with scope of practice.

  • Develops, implements and evaluates general and unit-specific orientation and education programs for staff.

  • Facilitates the development and ongoing maintenance of the department’s preceptorship/mentorship programs.

  • Participates in ongoing review and revision of patient care standards, policies and procedures and coordinates in-service programs to meet continuing educational needs of staff.

  • Shift: Wednesday–Thursday with alternate Fridays, Days, 08:00 to 16:00.

About the Hospital and Services

Dawson Creek & District Hospital is a full-service community hospital with 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. It serves Dawson Creek and surrounding communities and is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical Centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include Emergency, ICU, Day Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, Primary Care, Acute Care, Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory.


Visiting specialists include Urology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Construction is underway on a new Dawson Creek & District Hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027. The new facility will be larger and offer 70 beds, modern patient care spaces, and expanded services.
