Responsibilities
- The Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) provides nursing care within Home Care Services, Personal Care Home and/or Transitional Care, applying the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health.
- Works to full scope of practice and engages in ongoing education to maintain competency in line with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies and relevant professional standards (CRNM/CRPN Manitoba, RHPA, Code of Ethics, and Regulated Health Professions Act).
- Demonstrates initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods, and actions on unusual matters, aligned with organizational mission, vision and values.
Education and Certifications
- Education: SCHIPP & VPP and any other mandatory courses for the area.
- Certification/Licensure/Registration: Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba / College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses and RHPA scope of practice.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS).
- Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute, Transitional, PCH, Primary Care, Public Health-Healthy Living, Home Care Services).
Qualifications And Skills
- Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
- Ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment supporting quality services, quality improvement and staff empowerment.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and effective conflict resolution.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving with program improvement contribution.

- Respect for diverse cultures and ability to promote a culturally diverse population.
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for bilingual positions.
- Respect for confidentiality across all formats (paper, electronic, etc.).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, access to an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.

- May travel to other regional facilities as required.
