Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) provides nursing care within Home Care Services, Personal Care Home and/or Transitional Care, applying the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health.
  • Works to full scope of practice and engages in ongoing education to maintain competency in line with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies and relevant professional standards (CRNM/CRPN Manitoba, RHPA, Code of Ethics, and Regulated Health Professions Act).
  • Demonstrates initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods, and actions on unusual matters, aligned with organizational mission, vision and values.
Education and Certifications
  • Education: SCHIPP & VPP and any other mandatory courses for the area.
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration: Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba / College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses and RHPA scope of practice.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS).
  • Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute, Transitional, PCH, Primary Care, Public Health-Healthy Living, Home Care Services).
