Job summary

A local health organization in North Stormont seeks compassionate individuals for a nursing role focused on managing resident care, communication with health professionals, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should have a caring approach and be passionate about nursing. Full training will be provided. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact on resident care and requires flexibility in working patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage medicines in accordance with guidance and policies.
  • Raise safeguarding concerns when necessary.
  • Conduct mental capacity assessments and consent processes.
  • Maintain accurate care control records.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals for safe care delivery.
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues in care.
  • Recognize episodes of illness deterioration and act accordingly.
  • Ensure adherence to GDPR rules for documentation.

Job description
Principle responsibility’s
  • Medicines management – In-line with internal / local / national guidance / polices
  • Safeguarding – Confidence in raising safeguarding concerns
  • Deprivation of Liberty – Inclusive of submission and review of decision specific requests, Mental capacity assessments, Consents
  • Maintain care control records, which are professional, accurate and current
  • Undertaking – where appropriate DST and CHC funding reviews
  • Liaising with GP’s, Pharmacists and other professionals in the safe care delivery of our residents.
  • Maintain the privacy, dignity, safety of our residents always.
  • Lead and participate in peer group teaching.
  • Adhere to professional (NMC) Regulatory (CQC, CCG) regulations and guidance in relation to safe practice and care delivery of residents.
  • To be flexible in working pattern and willing to undertake a variance of shift pattern when needed.
  • Support, mentor junior colleagues in safe care delivery
  • To promote an open and honest culture to raise concerns and learn.
  • To be always professional with residents, families and colleague’s
  • To be professional advocates for care delivery at Beech Lawn
  • To proactively recognise episodes of illness deterioration and take decisive action in conjunction with GP partners
  • To recognise end of life processes and be responsibility for ensuring the resident and family are supported, TEP’s are appropriate, PND’s are current, Last wishes known along with funeral directors and plans
  • To ensure resident specific documentation is filed appropriately, and GDPR rules are adhered to at all times.
  • To maintain mandatory training requirement of BLUESTREAM
  • Partake in Clinical governance meeting when able
  • High light areas of additional professional development to clinical lead or Registered manager
