Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Assess operating problems in Industrial and dew point applications and determine solutions, through troubleshooting.
2. Responsible for accurate troubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels including a basic understanding of PLC and / or microprocessors.
3. Independently perform mechanical inspection using multimeters, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools.
4. Assemble and install refrigeration or A / C components such as motors, controls gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors using hand and power tools.
5. Measure and cut piping and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
6. Install, troubleshoot, and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
7. Startup HVAC systems and test for leaks using testing devices.
8. Recharge system with refrigerant. Check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing.
9. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
10. Boiler startups experience an asset.
11. Experience troubleshooting HVAC systems and performing building service / maintenance on the HVAC equipment.
12. Comply with safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

1. Must possess Interprovincial Refrigeration Journeyperson ticket.
2. Min. years’ experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC, etc.
3. HVAC / Gas fitting experience is preferred.
4. Must possess own tools necessary to complete HVAC diagnosis and repair.
5. Solid understanding of modern construction practices.
6. Understanding of construction documents.
7. Must possess a valid Class Drivers License and be insurable.
8. Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
9. A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
10. Ability to work in a team environment.
11. Plumbing, Sheet Metal, or Fuel Oil Technician also an added asset.
