  • Maintain department records and complete all documentation on time.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation of recreation and volunteer programs.
  • Maintain recreation supplies and report deficiencies to the Program Manager.

The Opportunity

The Recreation and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and facilitating a variety of meaningful recreation and leisure pursuits which promote wellbeing, purpose, creativity, a sense of community, lifelong learning, and fun.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains department records and completes all documentation as per required timelines, including: Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes and Activity Pro.
  • Participates in the on-going evaluation of the recreation and volunteer programs and related quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains recreation supplies and other related tools/resources in good working condition and as per related infection control policies and procedures, reporting deficiencies to the Program Manager.
What You Will Need
  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or Therapeutic Recreation is preferred.
  • Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Kinesiology or Gerontology and related experience specific to providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors.
  • Provincial Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Certificate in Volunteer Management is preferred.
