Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is committed to providing exceptional healthcare services, and we're in search of a dynamic Recreation Therapy Worker | Bus Driver to become a valued member of our interdisciplinary team. As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you'll play a vital role in implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program, focusing on geriatric residents and short-stay clients.

How You Can Make a Difference:

As a Recreation Therapy Worker and Bus Driver, you will be a key member of our interdisciplinary team, driving the implementation of our established Recreation Therapy Program. You will create and lead a diverse range of leisure and recreation activities such as arts, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises, tailored to the needs and interests of our residents. Your role includes organizing and setting up for programs and special events, teaching activity techniques, and overseeing resident participation, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone.

You will also take residents on exciting outings, ensuring they have the necessary clothing and funds, and coordinating with nursing staff and supervisors. Whether leading one-on-one sessions, group activities, or large special events, you will adapt programs to meet the physical, social, cognitive, spiritual, and emotional needs of our residents.

Position Details:

Enjoy the flexibility of a relief part time (0.81FTE) position with rotating day shifts. Employees in this position are eligible to pursue internal postings for permanent part-time or full-time positions.
