Job summary

Role and Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Imagine spending all summer with a great group of kids, hanging out at the beach, playing at the splash park and getting creative with arts and crafts – and – getting paid for it! Imagine letting your inner kid come out, never being bored, while adding great experience to your resume. We are looking for Summer Camp Leaders for children aged kindergarten through 12 years old. Each week will be a new experience with a host of activities including both indoor play and recreation and outside activities. You will get experience in designing recreational programs, teaching and leading individuals and groups while ensuring a healthy and safe environment. Above all, your goal is to help the children have fun, and have fun yourself.

  • Design recreational programs, teach and lead individuals and groups.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children aged kindergarten through 12 years old.
  • Deliver indoor and outdoor activities across weekly sessions.
  • Provide positive, engaging, and age-appropriate supervision and guidance.
Qualifications
  1. Education, Certifications and Licenses
    • High school diploma
    • Current CPR and Basic First Aid Qualifications
    • A valid driver’s license (Ontario), an asset
    • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
    • HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)
  2. Experience
    • In working with children
    • In programming activities for children
    • In leading children in activities
    • In ensuring safety protocols and procedures
  3. Competencies
    • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership
  4. Language Requirements
    • English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

  • Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50lbs/23 kg).
