Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organized and friendly Legal Administrative Assistant / Floater to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills a professional demeanor and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The role will require the successful candidate to also act as a Floater offering coverage with Receptionist duties. This on-site role is in Halifax.

Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative duties to support lawyers and paralegals
  • Proofreading legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing legal files calendars and taking dictation
  • Conducting basic legal research
  • Coordinating with clients and court officials
  • Handling general office tasks
Duties while covering Reception
  • Welcome all visitors and clients giving them a warm and professional first impression of the firm
  • Manages phone switchboard carefully answers and directs all calls with ease
  • Handles all inquiries with sensitivity and care
  • Processes mail and couriers and deliveries
  • Manages conference rooms and room setup for meetings including coffee refreshments and lunch orders
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed including data entry and processing bill payments
Experience & Attributes for Success
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Administration Assistant or similar role in a law practice.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
