Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a childcare setting with school-aged children preferred.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement programs for toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C certification.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations for TB, Tetanus, and MMR.

Position: RECE Full Day Educator

Location: Greensville Centre, 625 Harvest Road, Dundas, ON L9H 5K8

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Schedule: Monday to Friday - rotating day shifts (start and end times subject to change)

Pay Rate per Collective Agreement (includes wage grants): $28.24 per hour

Who We’re Looking For
  • At least 1 year of experience working directly with children, or experience in a childcare setting with school-aged children is preferred.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement programs for toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C certification
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations for TB, Tetanus, and MMR
  • Familiarity with the Ministry of Education's How Does Learning Happen? framework is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced setting
Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests to promote their overall development.
  • Maintaining supervision and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children up to 12 years of age.
  • Organizing indoor and outdoor play spaces, materials, and equipment to create a welcoming environment.
  • Conducting daily health checks on children and documenting any concerns as required by the Ministry of Education.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and maintaining professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board staff.
