Job summary

A staffing agency is seeking an experienced Material Handler in Kitchener to support production operations in a manufacturing environment. This temporary-to-permanent role requires at least one year of material handling experience, valid forklift certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The job focuses on preparing and moving materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe working environment. The position operates on a Monday to Thursday shift from 6:30am-4:30pm, with occasional Fridays as needed.

  • Valid forklift and reach truck certification required.
  • Experience with inventory control is essential.

Job description

On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support production operations in a manufacturing environment.

This is a temporary-to-permanent role for the right candidate.

This role involves preparing, moving, and storing materials to ensure smooth production flow, with a strong focus on inventory accuracy, FIFO processes, and safe operation of reach forklifts.

Shift: 6:30am-4:30pm (Monday-Thursday, Fridays as need)

Pay Rate: $19

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklift and reach truck safely
  • Pick, pack, wrap, stage, and supply materials to production lines
  • Maintain accurate inventory and material flow (FIFO)
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Communicate material or equipment issues to management
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of material handling experience in manufacturing
  • Valid forklift and reach truck certification (In-house license is invalid)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Experience with inventory control
